WHO THE PROGRAM ADDRESSES
The open call is addressed to researchers interested in examining the philosophical grounds and consequences of music research. Relevant practices may be historical, analytical, ethnographic, philosophical, artistic, performative, archival, empirical, digital, pedagogical, practice-led, community-based, interdisciplinary, or situated across multiple methods. This range is indicative rather than exhaustive.
Projects may begin from an article, thesis, book, archive, edition, field study, dataset, performance, artistic process, technological system, institutional question, or broader research trajectory. Applications are welcome from researchers working within universities, conservatoires, independent practice, cultural organisations, or other settings, at different career stages.
Participants should be prepared to present work in progress, engage closely with the projects of others, revise their positions in response to discussion, and contribute to a collective research environment. The programme does not require a complete philosophy of music research at entry. Its purpose is to establish conditions in which philosophical positions can be articulated, tested, differentiated, and developed through inquiry. Intellectual curiosity, methodological openness, ethical attentiveness, and commitment to sustained exchange are therefore as important as the current state of any individual project.
